Illustrated rendering of the future new Guelph high school.

The Upper Grand District School Board is excited to share progress updates on the new south Guelph high school.

The new school is scheduled to open for the 2026-27 school year at the intersection of Arkell Road and Victoria Road. It will aid in accommodating the forecasted growth in the area and alleviate current enrolment pressures from the existing secondary schools in Guelph.

To establish a boundary for the new school, board staff are conducting a boundary review. This process will consider the current attendance areas of the existing secondary schools to determine which students will be assigned to the new school.

The process will involve the following schools:

·      Centennial CVI

·      Guelph CVI

·      John F Ross CVI

·      All Associated Elementary Schools

The latest Staff Report presents seven possible options to assign an attendance boundary to the new school. An online lookup tool is available to allow families to assess if/how their home address is affected by the proposed new school boundaries.

Parents/guardians from these schools are invited to a public information session to learn more about the boundary review. It will be held on March 6, 2025, at John F. Ross CVI (21 Meyer Drive, Guelph) from 5:30-7:30pm in the cafeteria.

In addition to the public information session, there are other ways families can get involved, including through an online survey and the boundary review webpage on the UGDSB website.
