Procurement Department Mission Statement
The Procurement Department is responsible for the cost effective procurement of goods and/or services, in a timely fashion and at an acceptable level of quality to support the activities of the Board. Our goal is to achieve best value for money while maintaining a high level of customer service.
We adhere to all procurement laws, regulations, rules, acts including the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive, and conduct our activities following a fair, open and transparent procurement process.
The Role of the Procurement Department
The role of the Procurement Department is to:
Deliver a high level of customer service and support to the Board
Obtain maximum value through negotiation and application of other purchasing strategies
Ensure goods and services are purchased through a process that is open, fair and transparent
Facilitate and manage the competitive bid process
Administer and manage contracts
Participate in cooperative and consortium purchasing initiatives
Mitigate Risk
Develop and manage vendor relationships
Strategically source products and services
Consider life-cycle activities from acquisition to end-of-use
Maintain the highest professional, ethical and moral business practices
Demonstrate environmental stewardship and consider the environmental impact of all purchase recommendations
