Getting around Guelph just got easier—and more affordable—for families and students! Thanks to Guelph Transit’s Kids Ride Free and Youth Ride Free programs, children and teens can now access free public transit with a registered OnYourWay fare card.

Kids Ride Free

Due to the success of its original one-year pilot, children aged 5 to 12 can ride Guelph Transit for free with a registered OnYourWay fare card. Kids under four can continue to ride free without a fare card.

Youth Ride Free – New Pilot Program

Starting February 1, 2025, youth aged 13 to 17 can ride Guelph Transit for free every weekday after 5 p.m. and all day on weekends and holidays with a registered OnYourWay fare card. This pilot program will run until December 31, 2025.

How to Register for an OnYourWay Card

To take advantage of these programs, children and youth must register for an OnYourWay fare card through Guelph Transit. For details on where to get a card and how to register, visit the Guelph Transit website.

Encouraging kids and teens to use public transit fosters independence, promotes sustainable transportation, and provides families with a cost-saving way to navigate and explore the city.
