Girls Rugby: Congratulations to our girls rugby team for a hard fought battle against GC Gaels yesterday. Our girls fought hard against the Gaels in a very windy game. Special shout out to Brynley H for her try, conversion and final whistle held up try. See you all for a meeting at noon in A208.

He will be speaking about environment and sustainability issues, plus answering questions you may have. We recommend anyone interested in the environment or if you’re just someone who wants to learn what’s occurring in Guelph to come out to the Hub next to the cafe at lunch TODAY to learn a bit more about your community."
Leadership Councils - if you are interested in joining a student leadership council next year, this includes… school events, student council and SSA - please pick up an application form in guidance. Forms are available today and are due back to guidance on Monday May 5th.
Music Council: Do you play in a band? Are you interested in competing in this year’s Battle of the Bands? The board wide event will take place on May 22nd at Ross but Centennial will be holding its own event on May 20th to choose a band to represent us. If you are part of a band and you’d like to participate, please complete the Google Form posted on your grade specific classroom or scan the QR code on the poster. Sign-ups will close on May 13th so don’t delay!
Book Club: Hey hey Spartans, Centennial is having a spring cleaning book drive. Next week from Monday April 28th to Friday May 2 at lunch in the main hall, you can drop off your used books to donate to charities in Guelph including Michael House! All types of books are accepted, however children’s books are in high demand. Donate what you can and know that your donations will be giving back to the Guelph community to spread the joy of reading!

GSA: Today, the GSA will be hosting guest speaker, Cynthia Petersen, who is a judge in Guelph. She has worked as a lawyer on many supreme court cases relating to LGBTQIA+ rights in Canada. Come out to the GI room today at the start of lunch if you are interested in the history of LGBTQIA+ rights in Canada and/or if you want to learn more about law in general. All are welcome.

Relay For Life Assembly: A reminder that there is an assembly during period 2 for the Relay for Life event. Juniors are to start at 10:40 and Seniors will be asked to come down immediately after. Please listen for the call down!
Culture Day Trivia: This is it Spartans! CCVI’s Culture Day event is THIS Friday at lunch! Start planning your outfit to honor your culture. To get everyone in the spirit, we’re having a trivia question each morning to test your cultural knowledge. Teachers should email Ashley Huggins their response and room number. The first class with the correct answer wins a prize. Today’s Question → What is the oldest language in the world?

Happy Earth Week, Spartans! This week, we are encouraging everyone to take action in preserving and protecting Earth’s natural resources. We will be playing Earth songs in the morning all week, as well as having special Earth week activities. Do you think you are an environmental advocate? Do you like earning prizes? Then come on down to the front hall to spin the wheel and test your knowledge on all things Earth-related! Those who answer environment-related questions correctly will win a prize. Tomorrow, mayor Cam Guthrie is coming to talk to students about sustainability initiatives in Guelph in the Hub next to the cafeteria at lunch. Be there!
Improv Update: Last week, your Centennial Rogues Improv Team went and competed in Ottawa for the National Tournament of the Canadian Improv Games. The Rogues came out flying with one of our best scenes we’ve ever done and ultimately finished with a score of 716, one point shy of the top ten in all of Canada! This is an outstanding achievement, and Mr. Harris would like to congratulate Bridget, Clay, Aiden, Declan, Ryan, Giovanni, Eva, Kass, and Caroline on an outstanding season. Please stay tuned for opportunities to learn more about the Rogues improv team and join us in preparing for next year’s tournament. Go Rogues!
