Career Pathways 2025

Hundreds of Grade 8 students in the Guelph-Wellington area attended the annual Career Pathways event on Thursday, April 17 at The Frank Hasenfratz Centre for Excellence in Manufacturing

The students got to meet with local companies and organizations to learn about future career, training, and volunteer opportunities available to them.

“I think it’s very beneficial for what you want to do in the future,” a student from Kortright Hills PS said about the event.

Some of the exhibitors in attendance included the OPP, Conestoga College, Guelph-Wellington Paramedics, Linamar, and Canada Heavy Equipment College.

“It gives [students] an idea of what’s going on out there and helps them make some choices when they go to high school,” said Charles Benyair, Co-operative Education, Dual Credit, Specialist High Skills Major, Technological Education and STEM Curriculum Lead at the UGDSB.

The event was a partnership between the Upper Grand District School Board, Wellington Catholic District School Board, and the Career Education Council.
