The Upper Grand District School Board will be participating in Mental Health and Education Week again this year, under the theme Thriving Together, Building Healthy Futures.
Running from May 5 to 9, students and staff will focus on all aspects of wellness, highlighting the importance of well-being in learning and school communities.
Daily topics for the 5 Days of Wellness are:
Monday: Mindful Beginnings
Small moments of mindfulness can reduce stress, improve focus, and set a positive tone for the day and your week.
Tuesday: Kindness Counts
Acts of kindness—big or small—create a ripple effect that strengthens school communities and enhances well-being.
Wednesday: Wellness Through Movement
Whether it’s stretching, walking, or dancing, find a way to move today and feel the benefits of an active body and mind.
Thursday: Empowering Through Connection & Care
Building strong, supportive relationships is key to mental well-being and resilience.
Friday: Thriving Together, Building Healthy Futures
By supporting each other, we create a future where everyone can thrive in a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment.
As with previous years, the UGDSB Mental Health and Education Week committee hosted a student contest asking for student designed logo submissions. The committee is pleased to announce that this year’s winner is Molly Dykstra, a Grade 8 student from École John McCrae PS.
