The UGDSB is excited to announce that this school year, our local Career Education Council will be organizing career days and workshops specifically designed for our Grade 9 and 10 students. These events aim to showcase in-demand careers and provide valuable insights into the local labour landscape.

Guest speakers representing a variety of pathways, sectors, and career choices will meet with students in small groups to share their insights and stories.  These “career conversations” are meant to inspire curiosity while also providing students with a deeper understanding of the skills and qualifications required for various roles, the realities of different industries, and the potential career trajectories they can pursue. Hearing firsthand from professionals can spark interests, broaden perspectives, and empower students to continue taking an active role in the exploration of career possibilities.

The CEC invites UGDSB parents/guardians to consider the opportunity to become a Career Speaker.

Your experience and skills could significantly impact our students as they explore various career paths. By submitting your expression of interest, you will help us understand how you can contribute to inspiring and guiding our youth, building their confidence, and igniting their passion for future career possibilities. If your application is approved, you will be contacted about local opportunities to speak. Your participation will be based on your schedule and availability.

Thank you for your continued support in helping shape the future of our students!
