The Westside Secondary School community continues to come together in a big way, fundraising for breast cancer awareness.

On October 25, 2024, the school held it's annual Pink Day fundraiser, which included a community breakfast, school-wide assembly with events and challenges, live music and more. On the days leading up to Pink Day, students donate money in exchange for pink highlights in their hair, pink painted nails, cotton candy and cupcakes, with all proceeds going to the fundraising effort.

The annual fundraiser, held since 2004, is the school's biggest spirit day, and all proceeds support Breast Cancer Canada's breast cancer awareness fundraiser. This year, Pink Day raised more than $24,000, the school's second highest annual total ever.

Several times in years past, Westside SS has been named the top team fundraiser in the national campaign.

Way to go Westside!
