Guelph, ON -- This October, a dedicated group of Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute (GCVI) International Baccalaureate students, including Felix H., Victoria P., Tanushi R., Samantha V., and Emma W., led the charge in Socktober, a city-wide effort to collect socks for those in need.
Partnering with John Dennis of the Helper Bees Program, they contributed 1,851 pairs toward the city’s goal of 5,000 -- and exceeding their own personal goal of 1,000 socks.
These socks will be distributed downtown through Rachel’s Saturday Table, helping to protect vulnerable community members as winter approaches.
GCVI students have truly shown how small acts can have a big impact on our community’s well-being.
