GUELPH, Ontario – Brant Avenue Public School is excited to announce that it has been ‘adopted’ as part of the Canada-wide Indigo Adopt a School fundraising campaign.

Brant Avenue PS is the sole public school in Guelph to be included in this year’s fundraiser and was adopted by Chapters-Indigo Guelph.

The fundraiser runs from September 15 to October 6. During that time, funds raised during the campaign will help support Brant Avenue’s library. Brant Avenue is a small school with therefore a smaller library budget compared to larger schools, so the school is excited about the opportunity to adding new books to the library.

Donations can be made online and in store at Chapters-Indigo Guelph. The school will receive every dollar raised during the campaign period.

Brant Avenue PS Principal Mike Anderson hopes the fundraiser will help the school add to its collection of current books that will engage the school’s young readers.

In speaking about why reading is important to him, Anderson said, “One of my earliest memories of my childhood was when I would find a great book, find a comfy spot to sit, and get lost in the pages of an exciting story… I want all our students to find this level of joy and engagement in reading.”
