Pink Day is our school’s largest spirit day of the year, raising money for BCC’s Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser. In the days leading up to Pink Day, students donate money in exchange for pink highlights in their hair, pink painted nails, cotton candy and cupcakes, with all proceeds going to the fundraising effort.
At the Pink Day assembly, nearly all of our 800 students show up wearing pink. Teachers and students face off in various competitions (tug-of-war, bottle-toss), and other contests. Each year several students and staff shave their heads and donate their hair to groups that make wigs for cancer patients.
