Policy 510 Safe Arrival

Policy Statement

It is the policy of the Upper Grand District School Board to ensure each elementary school creates and implements a safe arrival program that allows parents/guardians and staff to account for a student’s unexplained absence from school.  Schools shall make all reasonable efforts to make timely contact with parents/guardians, or designated emergency/additional contacts when a student is absent, and the school has not been notified.

This policy is in alignment with the obligations of school boards for student attendance under the Education Act and the Ministry of Education Policy/Program Memorandum No. 123.
