Policy 214 Accessibility
The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) is committed to creating an inclusive environment across all its facilities, that upholds independence, dignity, respect, and equitable access for students, parents/guardians/caregivers, the public, and staff. The UGDSB is committed to continually improving accessibility and actively removing barriers to foster greater equity. Guided by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), the UGDSB strives not only to meet but to exceed the standards set forth in these mandates to meet the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities.
This policy is aligned with and supports the principles and expectations of human rights, equity, and inclusive education. At all times, this policy should be interpreted to be consistent with the board’s policies and the Human Rights Code.
