April 4th PA Day: Next Friday, April 4 is a PA Day for staff and there is no school for students.

Ramadan

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and heightened devotion and worship. The fast begins at dawn and ends at sunset. We wish all families celebrating a Happy Ramadan which ends this weekend.

Ball Hawks is Coming to Rockwood Centennial P.S.! JK-5-Mar 27th

Courtesy of our wonderful School Council, we have been fortunate to have funds to support all of our students in attending or being engaged in a fun and educational active program. Our grades 6-8 students participated in Sledge hockey experience learning about the importance of inclusivity in sports. Get ready for a high-energy, action-packed day of sports fun! Ball Hawks is bringing our fast-paced, dynamic program to the school for grades K-5. Led by professional coaches, students will enjoy exciting mobility activities, small-sided games, and nonstop movement—all designed to build confidence, teamwork, and a love for play. Grade 7 and 8 floor hockey tournament is on Thursday, March 27th in Erin. Thanks to Mr. Dembek Blair for coaching our students!

We have a parent engagement session -April 15.  Please see the attached invitation for an evening session for parents and guardians about anti bullying and inclusion.  The co-author of Stop the Hate Dr. Larry Schwartz will be speaking.  As a staff, we are reading this book and learning about how to teach our students about respect, diversity and inclusion. Please fill out the attached link for parents if attending the April 15th session so we have an idea of numbers as snacks will be provided. https://forms.gle/vgKZHutFYsf3HEFbA

 Fundraiser-JD Sweid catalogues went home before the break and orders are now open on schoolcashonline.com

RCPS and your school council is proud to partner again with JD Sweid Foods (Elmira Chicken) to help raise some funds to support our school.   We have a goal to sell 250 boxes of chicken and need everyone’s help to succeed. All orders need to be consolidated with funds sent via your CHILD’S SCHOOL CASH ONLINE ACCOUNT.  All orders must be submitted by Sunday March 30th with a planned delivery date of Wednesday Apr 16th between 3:00-5:00 at the school’s front entrance.  In the case of siblings please submit your order under one child to assist in pickup allocation.  Questions, requests for a soft copy of the order form or alternate arrangements for pick up can be made by sending an email to a member of the school council at rcpsfundraising2.0@gmail.com.
