I hope you had a wonderful and restful March Break! Looks like Spring weather is here and I know everyone is looking forward to it. Please send in extra socks for your child and outdoor shoes/boots due to the wet and muddy Spring weather.

Public Health suspensions: Due to required immunizations, Public Health issues suspension notices are sent to schools. We are required to follow the orders including suspensions and DO NOT have flexibility. If you need assistance and have updated vaccinations, contact Public Health as the school doesn’t store or keep this information.
Parents/guardians of students receiving the suspension orders can be directed to make appointments with their Health Care Provider or Public Health. Appointments at Public Health can be make online at https://wdghealth.inputhealth.com/ebooking#new.

Immunizations may be reported in the following ways:

To expedite a student’s return to school, WDGPH nurses will provide students with a ‘Return to School Card’ to allow students to return to class immediately while the student’s records are being processed. This card is now also available electronically, ensuring quicker access for students.
March 20 First day of spring and wear spring colours!
March 20 Get Real Presentations Grade 4-8: In accordance with our goals to raise awareness of anti-Black racism and inclusion, we have a responsibility to address and describe racism and oppression and work to dismantle it. As part of our on-going education and to continue the learning of Black history month, we have speakers presenting from Get Real on March 20th for grades 4-6 and Gr 7-8

March 21st if the international day for the elimination of racism. As a school community, we have a responsibility to describe and dismantle racism and oppression. Please continue to have important conversations about how all students must be treated with dignity and respect and there is no place for hate. We have seen a reduction in incidents and identity based harm as we continue to educate, inform and raise awareness of the importance of words and actions.
March 21st is also the first day of Spring! Wear spring colours to welcome the season!

We have a parent engagement session -April 15. Stop the Hate Parent session Please see the attached invitation for an evening session for parents and guardians about anti bullying and inclusion. The co-author of Stop the Hate Dr. Larry Schwartz will be speaking. Food orders for new term: A reminder that all orders for food for the final term are due on March 23rd to purchase pizza/milk/subs on schoolcashonline.com. No later orders will be accepted. Any families needing support for pizza and milk, please let the office know by March 21st.
We are no longer selling popcorn and cookies and appreciate all of the support with this great fundraiser. We raised approximately $3,000 including the bake sale for our grade 8 graduation.
Fundraiser-JD Sweid catalogues went home before the break and orders are now open on schoolcashonline.com.
RCPS and your school council is proud to partner again with JD Sweid Foods (Elmira Chicken) to help raise some funds to support our school. We have a goal to sell 250 boxes of chicken and need everyone’s help to succeed. All orders need to be consolidated with funds sent via your CHILD’S SCHOOL CASH ONLINE ACCOUNT. School Cash Online will open on Friday March 7th, and all orders must be submitted by Sunday March 30th with a planned delivery date of Wednesday Apr 16th between 3:00-5:00 at the schools front entrance. In the case of siblings please submit your order under one child to assist in pickup allocation. Questions, requests for a soft copy of the order form or alternate arrangements for pick up can be made by sending an email to a member of the school council at rcpsfundraising2.0@gmail.com.
