Good morning RCPS Families,

The Upper Grand District School has moved to a new communication system instead of Messenger as of March 1st called Thrillshare. This system allows us to send information home in various ways, including text messages (as well as the usual email and phone calls).

As a school community, we will now use this system. Most messages will be an email unless it is more critical, a text/call will be used.

Live Free Campaign and donations:

Kids Live Free Hunger Campaign - 2024/2025

Friday March 7th is Live Free from Hunger Day. We are asking for donations through school cash online. All funds raised by this campaign will go directly back to our snack program at Rockwood Centennial. We provide healthy snacks to all students in our school five days a week.Please consider making a donation to our program. Any amount helps! If you are in need of a tax receipt, please donate through the link below and choose Rockwood Centennial Public School from the drop-down menu.

Ramadan

We are pleased to announce that Ramadan 2025 will begin on the evening of Feb 28, and end March 29 with the exact date contingent on the moon sighting. This month of fasting, reflection, and prayer is an opportunity to increase acts of worship and kindness. Students recognizing and celebrating Ramadan are provided a space for prayer if requested.

May this Ramadan bring peace, joy, and countless blessings to all.

Food orders:

Thank you did supporting popcorn and cookie sales! Our fundraiser has made for grad and we will be wrapping up this week Wednesday is our last day for sales

March 3rd our next term for food orders will open up on schoolcashonline.com. A reminder that tomorrow is our pizza make up day.

JD Sweid Fundraiser: RCPS and your school council is proud to partner again with JD Sweid Foods (Elmira Chicken) to help raise some funds to support our school. We have a goal to sell 250 boxes of chicken and need everyone’s help to succeed. All orders need to be consolidated with funds sent via your CHILD’S SCHOOL CASH ONLINE ACCOUNT. School Cash Online will open on Friday March 7th, and all orders must be submitted by Sunday March 30th with a planned delivery date of Wednesday Apr 16th between 3:00-5:00 at the schools front entrance. In the case of siblings please submit your order under one child to assist in pickup allocation. Questions, requests for a soft copy of the order form or alternate arrangements for pick up can be made by sending an email to a member of the school council at rcpsfundraising2.0@gmail.com.

Lost and found items are overflowing please have a look so we can get items to children. Students will be encouraged to look for their items.
