Kindergarten concert
Our “Kindergarten concert” is today, Thursday, Dec 12 from 2:00-3:00 pm in the gym. This is also the evening for the Rockwood Parade of Lights.
Gr 8 Fundraiser-Dec 17th Bake Sale
We are also planning a Holiday Bake Sale on Dec 17th during the evening winter concert from 5:30-6:30pm. All parents are welcome to send in baked items with a list of ingredients on a card/sticky note on Tuesday, December 17th. Please ensure they are NUT free. Each item will be $2 so please bring money to the concert on Tuesday, Dec 17th. Any left over items will be sold on Wednesday, Dec 18th so please send your children with a toonie! We look forward to enjoying some great treats as well as raising some money for our grade 8 graduation. Please send items in the morning on December 17th with a name on the containers so we can return them. Thanks in advance for supporting this fundraiser and baking items for us to sell and enjoy for Dec 17th at the holiday concert! All families are welcome to attend. We also have popcorn and cookies available for sale on Wednesdays.
Book Fair: Dec 13-18
Come shop at the Scholastic Book Fair at RCPS and support your child’s love of reading and our school Learning Commons at the same time. The Book Fair will be open during the following times:
Friday, December 13: 1st Nutrition Break
Monday, December 16: 1st Nutrition Break, 2nd Nutrition Break
Tuesday, December 17: 2nd Nutrition Break, after school from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, December 18: 1st Nutrition Break, 2nd Nutrition Break
RCPS Music Concerts
Seasons greetings parents of singers and musicians! Rockwood will be featuring two musical concerts; an evening winter concert and the day time winter concert. These are two separate concerts. We are a large school, and they are separate due to gym capacity. We invite parents to come and enjoy their child’s performance.
“Evening Winter Concert” on Tuesday, December 17th 6:30 pm
The evening concert features the Music Clubs at RCPS. The Grade 1-5 Choir, Grade 6-8 Choir, Rock Band, Grade 6 Band, and Intermediate Band. Grade 1-5 Choir members please wear a fun seasonal outfit! Grade 6-8 students please wear your music t-shirt with dark bottoms, please no ripped jeans. Music t-shirts ‘round two order’ will be available for a limited time through school cash online. We look forward to performing for you!
We will have our dress rehearsal on December 17th period 3 and 4.
On the night of the concert please drop off band members at 6:00pm so we can warm up.
Other performers can arrive with their families and go to their supervised waiting rooms.
We will continue to rehearse during the breaks and we will have extra practices afterschool for the Intermediate Band, Grade 6 Band, and Grade 6-8 Choir. Please refer to the newsletter that was sent home with your child for practice times.
“Daytime Winter Concert” on Tuesday, December 17th at 9:00am
This daytime concert features the music classes from Grade 1-6. Students please wear something fun and festive on the concert performance day. Props for specific classes will be communicated in your child’s Google Classroom.
Subs/Milk/Pizza orders for term 2 are due on schoolcashonline.com on Dec 15th. If you need financial support, please contact the office as we have a fund to allow all students to participate.
Our last day before the holidays is Friday, December 20th. It is a spirit day so students can come dressed comfortably to celebrate the last day before the holidays!
