East Garafraxa School is situated near the hamlet of Marsville. You can find us on Dufferin County Road 3 halfway between Fergus and Orangeville.
As a school, we take much pride in our community involvement over the years. East Garafraxa Public School opened on November 22, 1965 with 250 students who came from nine, one room school houses! We have become a real community school, having a rich heritage with over fifty years of traditions and celebrations.

Mission Statement
At East Garafraxa, staff and parents are partners in promoting confident and competent learners who will be prepared for our changing world. We strive to always maintain high standards in the academic, physical, social and emotional aspects of life. We communicate effectively, we think critically and problem solve efficiently.
Our students show respect for self and others and demonstrate competency in literacy and numeracy. We are a certified Eco – School that values and protects the natural environment.
Extra-Curricular Activities
All extra-curricular activities in our school are run on a volunteer basis by our teachers. What we are able to offer in the way of sports and other clubs will change from year to year and all depends on whether we have trained staff who are prepared to volunteer their time. If you have any concerns about this please speak to the principal.
