Village Finding is a program that helps bridge that gap by matching families with volunteers who can offer small but meaningful acts of support—walking a child to school, helping with meal prep, providing childcare, or simply offering a listening ear. This can also extend to community leaders who are already doing this work to build a village, who want to become formal volunteers and receive some support and training from an organization.
Where We Are Now
We have seen a lot of changes since the program began, as well as a few starts and stops. We are now ready to start onboarding volunteers and matching them with families, which is very exciting! We are actively looking for volunteers. https://guelphchc.ca/villagefinding/
How You Can Get Involved
Perhaps you know of someone who is already a village builder, who you’d like to connect to the program. Perhaps you know someone looking to give back and get more involved in their community. Perhaps this is even you. If so, we’d love to hear from you! There are many ways to help make a difference and we will tailor the match to your specific interests, skills, and capacity. We’d love to have you as part of this growing village of support.
