Walkers:

We encourage our students to use sidewalks and to cross roads at intersections. There are no crossing guards on duty, so we ask parents to walk their younger children and ensure that older children are well-versed in road safety if they are going to walk alone.

Bicycles:

For safety reasons bikes are to be walked across school property, placed and/or locked in the bicycle racks at the east end of the school during school hours. For protection of the bicycles, this area is not used for general play.

Bus:

Much time, effort and cooperation between school personnel and bus personnel has been spent on developing routines, procedures and expectations to ensure that your child has a safe ride to and from school. While being transported, every student is responsible to the Principal for his/her conduct. The cooperation of our parents to review frequently the expectations with your child/our student, will enhance a pleasant and safe ride on the bus. If buses are cancelled because of inclement weather, announcements will be broadcast on local radio stations as well as the Upper Grand DSB website. Pupils are NOT allowed to ride buses or allowed off buses at other “stops” other than their own.
