Chers parents,

This past Monday was Earth Day where students were reminded of the small ways we can protect our planet and do our part to leave our environment in a better condition than we found it for the generations of the future. Also, Wednesday was Administrative Staff Appreciation Day. We are so very lucky at EJPS to have Mme McLeod be the first voice and face that meets and greets our community. Not only is she incredibly organized, quick thinking, and accurate but she is extremely understanding, kind and supportive to all who have the pleasure of interacting with her. She makes a tremendous difference at EJPS and I know the staff, students, and parents all give her top scores for her daily performance as our office coordinator. She shoots! She scores! THANK YOU, Mme McLeod!

In other news, it is hard to believe but we are already starting to plan our organization for the 2025-2026 school year. If you are planning a move to another school this summer, or know of someone moving into our school area for the 2025-2026 school year, please notify the office as soon as possible. Moreover, I wanted to comment that in the past, we have received a number of class placement requests for the coming school year. This can make class building very difficult and sometimes hinder the process significantly. We will not be taking any class placement requests for September 2025. If your child has some exceptional circumstances that require consideration when doing class placements, please email me directly at olivier.cutz@ugdsb.on.ca. Please know that when placing your child in a class, we consider their ability, personality, productive and supportive learning friendships, learning style, and behaviour. Class building is a lengthy process that is given a great deal of thought by the staff. Thank you for recognizing that we do our very best for each and every student.

Here is a request from one of our Phys Ed. teachers, Mme Ammon:

Hello EJ hockey fans! Our school is looking to replace some of our aged and broken floor hockey equipment. We are looking for any "regulation plastic ball hockey, cosom (fiberglass) hockey sticks or a wooden/composite shaft with a full blade or plastic blade"- in particular sticks of a suitable size for our grade 5 and 6 students. If you happen to have any equipment, including goalie pads and gloves, that you are no longer using and would like to donate to our school, we would be very grateful!  Thank you for your support. Enjoy the playoffs!
