EJPS Week at a Glance (Feb 24-28)

Chers Parents,

Thank you for all your support with our Dance-A-Thon this week! This was another outstanding Dance-A-Thon! The glow in the dark environment and great music selection curated by parent volunteer Rich Burrows (aka DJ EJ) was perfectly suited to our students. The students really enjoyed themselves and it’s great that we raised money for our school at the same time. Shout out to our Dance-A-Thon parent committee for bringing a glowing sparkle and fun to the gym! . Last, PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING IN ANY DANCE-A-THON PLEDGE FORMS by MONDAY, FEB 24th!

In other news, our Junior Basketball teams are in the process of try-outs and their coaches, Mme Stewart & parent volunteer Natasha Papadedes are preparing for the upcoming tournament on March 5th. We are also looking forward to our Spirit Day on February 25th at 11:00 AM. Parents are invited to join us in the back of the gym! Mme Hill and Mme Saylany have prepared some student presentations to inspire EJ to be our best selves as well as look back and reflect as well as celebrate our learning in the last while including the month of Black Brilliance. Additionally, we will have our Dragon Drummers finish off their music making season with their final performance for the year to make cool vibrations to inspire us all. Thanks again to Mr. Burrows (parent volunteer and professional percussionist) for teaming up with me and running this weekly club for the last 5 months!

Guelph High School Boundary Review (GUELPH SCHOOLS ONLY)

Please view this Information Session Poster for more information

Parents/guardians invited to public information session on new Guelph high school boundary review

GUELPH, Ontario – The Upper Grand District School Board is excited to share progress updates on the new south Guelph high school.

The new school is scheduled to open for the 2026-27 school year at the intersection of Arkell Road and Victoria Road. It will aid in accommodating the forecasted growth in the area and alleviate current enrolment pressures from the existing secondary schools in Guelph.

To establish a boundary for the new school, board staff are conducting a boundary review. This process will consider the current attendance areas of the existing secondary schools to determine which students will be assigned to the new school.

The process will involve the following schools:

  • Centennial CVI

  • Guelph CVI

  • John F Ross CVI

  •  All Associated Elementary Schools

The latest Staff Report presents seven possible options to assign an attendance boundary to the new school. An online lookup tool is available to allow families to assess if/how their home address is affected by the proposed new school boundaries.

Parents/guardians from these schools are invited to a public information session to learn more about the boundary review. It will be held on March 6, 2025, at John F. Ross CVI (21 Meyer Drive, Guelph) from 5:30-7:30pm in the cafeteria.

In addition to the public information session, there are other ways families can get involved, including through an online survey and the boundary review webpage on the UGDSB website.

Have a great weekend,

Olivier Cutz (Principal)
