EJPS Week at a Glance (Sept 30-Oct 4)
Chers parents,
It was so nice to talk with so many of you and see smiling faces at our Open House on Thursday. I enjoyed as much as you did to see student work displayed in the classrooms and see the establishment of positive relationships through some face to face communication. Please remember to communicate with your child’s teacher or myself should you have any questions or concerns at any time. Proactive communication is key to building strong relationships.
A huge shout out to our Council Chair, Natasha Papadedes, and her team for their excellent organization and execution of a fantastic Fall Fair. There was an abundance of food and fun activities for all to enjoy. EJ School Council thanks the community for coming out to the Fall Fair and to all the volunteers that helped make it happen. Also, a big thank you to Mme Mizutani for her work on the Book Fair. The library was jam packed the entire evening!
We have some great news regarding Terry Fox! We surpassed our fundraising goal this year- we raised an amazing $3983.70- Wowzers! To congratulate our community efforts on this achievement we rewarded them with some extra recess/outdoor and physical activity time this Friday afternoon
This Monday, September 30th is the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, formerly known as Orange Shirt Day. If you have the means, we ask that you wear an orange shirt or button on this day to show your support. As a school, we will make ourselves visible in the community by completing a short walk. By wearing orange, we can help to show our commitment to this important day. Please note, an orange shirt/button is not a requirement. We will leave at 11 am and complete a short walk lead by our junior students. Please let your child’s know if you are able to volunteer.
