Arbour Vista Public School

Hello Arbour Vista families,

As spring approaches, we’re excited for longer days, warmer weather, and the chance to refresh our focus as we head into the final stretch of the school year. This season brings new opportunities for growth and achievement, both inside and outside the classroom. We’ll be sharing more details on upcoming events and activities soon, so stay tuned as we embrace everything the season has to offer!

Daylight Savings

As we’ve recently "sprung forward" with Daylight Saving Time, we hope everyone is adjusting well to the change. While the extra daylight is a welcome change, it can take a little time to get used to the shift in our routines.

To help ease the transition, it’s helpful to continue sticking to consistent morning and bedtime routines, and gradually adjusting bedtime if needed. Limiting screen time before bed can also make it easier for everyone to wind down.

It may take a few days to fully adjust, so please be patient as we all settle into the new schedule. We hope you’re enjoying the longer days and taking advantage of the opportunity to spend more time outdoors as we move into spring!

Ramadan

Sending wishes for a peaceful Ramadan, for those observing. Please know that there is a private prayer space located in the main office. Students wishing to access this space should connect with an adult, to ensure proper supervision.

Guelph Public Health

This is a reminder to schedule an appointment with your health care provider or Public Health to update your child’s vaccinations. The school will receive Official Suspension Orders on March 5, 2025, and parents will receive a robo call notifying you of your child’s potential suspension, as of March 19, 2025.

Once your child’s immunizations are complete, please report them to Public Health. Please note that students with incomplete records will be suspended starting March 19, 2025, until their records are updated and filed with WDGPH.

EQAO Math Night for Parents and Guardians

EQAO staff will discuss math questions that Ontario students encounter when they participate in Ontario’s large-scale assessments. These assessments are taken by all Ontario students in Grades 3, 6 and 9. During the webinar, EQAO staff will show how these math questions help assess the skills students are learning in their math classes. Staff will also share valuable insights from the past three years of assessment results, which can help parents and guardians support their children’s math learning.
