Good morning Arbour Vista families,

Winter is definitely here!  It is so nice to see the students enjoying the snow.  With the snow comes a lot of extra clothing.  Please label mittens, hats, scarves etc… This way if they show up in the lost and found they can make their way back to their owner.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 School Year

If you have a child starting kindergarten in September, then it’s time to register them for school! Kindergarten registration takes place from January 7-31, 2025. Starting Kindergarten is an exciting time for both you and your child. We look forward to welcoming our new JKs

School Parking lot

Thank you for ensuring our students exit their cars away from traffic in the Kiss 'n Ride area.  When crossing from the parking lot please remember to use the crosswalk to safely reach the school. As a reminder, the Kiss 'n Ride is intended for short stops only. Please avoid leaving your vehicles unattended in this area. If you wish to stay longer, feel free to park in a designated spot in the parking lot.

Inclement Weather

Bus cancellations are not posted to the school or UGDSB website.  This information is shared directly through the Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Services (STWDSTS).  Parents/guardians can sign up for cancellation/delay alerts through the STWDSTS website by clicking HERE

Bus cancellations and Pick up

If the bus does not run in the morning it will not run in the afternoon.  Please arrive to pick up your child on time.  Dismissal is at 2:40.  On inclement weather days the parking lot is extra busy.  Please only stop in the outside lane (lane closest to the school) and have your child enter the car on the passenger side.  If you are in the inside lane (closest to the parked cars), continue to circle the lot until you are able to pull in.  Parked/stopped cars in this lane prohibits cars from leaving and slows down the whole process. Once you pick up your child please leave the parking lot promptly to allow for others to pick up.  Thanks for your cooperation.

Illness Prevention Measures

As we enter the New Year it is a good time for reminders about some of the supports in place to keep students and staff healthy throughout the cold and flu season:

Key Protective Measures:

  • Frequent hand washing, respiratory etiquette and making the most of our outdoor spaces for learning continue to contribute to the health and well-being of students and staff.

  • Classes continue to have a standalone HEPA filter unit

  • Hand sanitizer is available for students, staff and visitors.

  • We continue to support students, staff and visitors in our schools and respect their individual choices about masking.

The UGDSB will continue to follow the direction of WDGPH for appropriate responses to illnesses in our community. Please visit their website for the most current information about respiratory illnesses including COVID-19 on their updated site:
