November 2024
Nov. 6 - Customer Service - P. 1 & 2 in the Learning Commons. Business students need this certification, all other SHSMs are welcome to attend.
Nov. 13 - ICE training (brainstorming to start your own business) - All day in the Learning Commons. Open to all SHSMs as part of Sector Partnered Experience.
Nov. 13 - Trip to La Luma Academy (Reach Ahead with Ms. Kumagai) for Health & Wellness students
Nov. 13 - Trip to K/W Courthouse (Reach Ahead with Mr. Beggs) for Health & Wellness and Non-Profit students
Nov. 18-19 - First Aid / CPR - for co-op students in SHSM.
Nov. 18 - Communication Skills for working with Non-Verbal people. Period 1 only. For Health and Wellness and Non-Profit students
Nov. 22 - Egypt Tour - Stop 1: First Stop: Dendera Temple. Period 1 only. For Arts & Culture and Hospitality & Tourism students.
Nov. 22 - Trip to Grand River Opera Company (Reach Ahead with Mr. Girvin) for Arts & Culture students
Nov. 26 - Transportation Programs at Conestoga. 1:50 - 3:05 pm in the Learning Commons (Reach Ahead with Mr. Gray). Come and listen to what is new at Conestoga for students wanting to pursue any program in transportation. For transportation students.
December 2024
Dec. 2-3 - First Aid / CPR - for all SHSM students. This one often has lower numbers so it would be ideal for interested grade 11 students. All day for 2 days in the Learning Commons
Dec. 10th - Trenching Safety in the Learning Commons (Period 2 and 3). Designed for Construction SHSM and offered because electricians in the area have asked for this training for any students interested in becoming an electrician.
Dec. 11-12 - Infection Control (Period 3 only) with Mr. Winch in the Learning Commons. This is mandatory for H & W students (especially those who are focused in the sciences for healthcare).
Dec. 12 - Egypt Tour - Stop 2: (Period 1 only) Come and see the Pyramids of Giza. Period 1 only. For Construction, Arts & Culture and Hospitality and Tourism students
